Autumn 1
For the start of our journey this year in Maple class our project was to make a video of tour of the school. In geography we looked at directions, maps, aerial photographs and used our knowledge to make plans of the classroom and school grounds and then used iPads to record the tour of the school using directional language. We also looked at different kinds of homes and used the maps to find historical features in our local area such as Bolsover Castle. Some of the areas in maths we covered were ordinal number and using part whole models for addition. In PE we developed our throwing and catching skills and began to learn how to play tennis. In the home corner we had lots of tea parties and for Halloween had spooky spells to create. Our artist of the term was Frieda Kahlo and inspired by her Viva La Vida Watermelon picture we use pumpkins as our curiosity crate was harvest themed. We had lots of fun in forest school and got to play games, sit around the camp fire, build dens and swings and search for mini beasts.
