Summer 2 - Seaside

This term in Blue class our topic has been The Seaside.  We have investigated how seaside holidays were like in the past using books and the internet.  We discovered that most people travelled to the seaside by steam train and they wore their best clothes.  Most people only went for a day trip.

In I.C.T we have been finding out about personal safety online through the theme of Pirates.  Children have enjoyed writing their own pirate blogs and diaries.

In PE Ruggers Eds have been teaching cricket skills and the children have enjoyed playing matches on the school field.  Our sports day finished with all the year twos running a relay from one end of the field to the other.

We had two fantastic days out this term.  The first trip was to Twycross Zoo as part of our Habitats topic last term. One of the huge blue butterflies from the tropical house was found on a banana in Miss Stock`s bag half way round and she had to take it back!  For our Leavers trip we had a great day out at Wheelgate Park,  went on lots of rides and enjoyed an icecream.

Our Leavers Assembly theme this year was based on the 50th anniversary of The Beatles Sergeant Pepper Album.  Some of us dressed up as The Beatles and we sang songs from the album.  We came into the hall through a huge yellow submarine.
