Summer 1 - It's Bugs Life
This half term we have been busy learning about lots of different insects. We have been learning about the Very Hungry Caterpillar and tried all the different fruits that the caterpillar ate. We were lucky to have a spider visit the Nursery during our work on Spider Sandwiches. We learnt how the spiders shed their skin and even had a turn at holding it.
We have been working hard to develop our Maths skills this term and used the dice to place the correct number of spots on the ladybird as well as matching the correct number of spiders to the numbered spider webs. We have been exploring measuring and attempted to find the longest and shortest worms during our work on Superworm. We had such fun with our messy play this term and practised using the tweezers to see how many spaghetti worms we could pick up in a minute.
We even had a special delivery of caterpillars this term.... Keep checking for updates on how our caterpillars are growing!
