Autumn 2
The children have had a fantastic half term and we have been very engaged in our learning.
This term we focused on geography, we explored maps and we even created our own maps. We explored using the BeeBots and had a go at programming them to move on a large map. We discussed where we live and explored similarities and differences between life in Chesterfield and contrasting places in the UK. We began to look at the different seasons.
This term we had so much fun at Forest School, we searched for minibeasts, made dens, made journey sticks, created natural pictures and learnt the rules of being around the camp fire and at forest school.
The artist of the term was Mark Rothko - No. 1 (Royal Red and Blue). The children created art work inspired by this piece of art and it is displayed in the school.
For science day we carried out experiments to see what happens when you add vinegar and baking soda to coke as well as mints, salt to glue and mixed cornflour and water.
On our Christmas craft day, we made Christmas tree decorations, baubles, and calendars, we also had lots of fun decorating biscuits and choosing a Christmas tattoo.
We all had a part in the Christmas nativity 'A Midwifes Crisis' and we performed it to the grown-ups, we were fantastic and very brave.
