Autumn 2 - Hocus Pocus
We have been working super hard in our second half-term in Yellow Class! Our second topic was ‘Hocus Pocus’, which focused on witches, wizards and magic. We have enjoyed using our home corner to mix potions and choose our own Hocus Pocus activities to complete. In literacy, we have looked at a variety of texts related to our topic and have written character descriptions of witches using adjectives, produced instructions for writing potions and re-written a familiar story in the correct sequence. We have also written some fantastic letters to Santa to tell him what we would like for Christmas. In computing, we have learnt how to select different colours, brushes, shapes and add text to our document in Paint. In art, we have learnt about different artists and have learnt different painting techniques and skills, including mixing colours, tinting, drip painting and using a variety of colours to show if a painting is hot or cold. We all had a great time at the Cinderella pantomime and enjoyed raising money for our school by holding a Winter Fair. No wonder we are all ready for our Christmas break!
