Autumn 2
What a busy Autumn 2 we have had! In phonics we looked at the sounds s, a, t, p, i, n. The children are doing a great job hearing the initial sounds and beginning to orally blend words. In literacy we have looked at loads of fantastic books and had so much fun acting them out! We all enjoyed acting out The Three Little Pigs. We have looked at shapes, numbers and patterns in math's. We built a road and obstacle course. We started to recognise numbers and say the amount that number needs. We have been practising our fine motor skills doing different cutting activities. We started creating models with junk box modelling, we even made a gingerbread house! We have made lots of pictures increasing the detail in our mark making. We looked into our own family history and were able to speak about who is in our family. We looked into Diwali and Hanukkah. We watched videos about children's first experiences of celebrating these religious festivals then talked about how it is similar or different to things we have celebrated. Towards the end of term we met Santa! we had our Nativity which went extremely well, finally we had a Christmas craft day and made lots of Christmas items to take home.
It has been such a great half term and we are so proud of how hard everyone has worked! Have a lovely Christmas and we will see you next year.
