Summer 2

We have had another busy last half term in Birch class! In Literacy, we focused on the following books; Jack and the Jellybean Stalk, I Wanna Iguana and The Proudest Blue. We have been working really hard on our writing this term. The children have all made some brilliant progress which they should be proud of.

In Maths the children have learn about number bonds, patterns, sharing and grouping along with making connections between numbers.

In our understanding the world lessons, we have been learning about how houses and transport have changed over the years. In RE, we have explored the topic of special stories. We talked about our favourite stories and then read a story from both the Bible and the Qur’an.

We have also continued working on our Personal, Social and Emotion development through circle times and stories. We’ve explored lots of different topics this term including how we change emotionally and physically and changes that happen to us e.g. transitioning into a different school year.

In PE our focus this term was on dribbling and controlling a ball. In our music lessons, we focused on learning about Big Band. The children also did a great job in their class assembly sharing all of the learning we have done.

Finally, this term we had our school trip to Cleethorpes. We had a lovely sunny day and the children were brilliant. Enjoy the summer holidays and we will see you in September!
